How to write a CV that gets noticed
Your CV is your first contact with an employer, and it is often read for only a few seconds. So every line has to earn its place.
1. Keep it to one page
If you don't have much experience, one page is enough. Employers read a clear CV, not a long one.
2. Put the most important things on top
Name, contacts, a short “About me” (2-3 sentences), then experience and skills.
3. Show results
Not “worked in sales”, but “increased sales by 20% in 3 months” — numbers convince.
4. Tailor it to the vacancy
Use the words from the job post — both people and systems look for them.
5. Check for mistakes
Typos look careless. Ask someone to proofread it.
6. Send a PDF
Save your CV as a PDF so the layout doesn't break.
